The Scares That Shaped Us Episode 45: "The Night We Buried Road Dog" with John Langan

Listen to John Langan on the latest episode of The Scares That Shaped Us!

John Langan is one of the greatest modern writers of horror short fiction, so when I had the chance to have him on my show, and he picked a tremendous short story by Jack Cady, I jumped at it.

"The Night We Buried Road Dog" is haunting, gorgeously rendered, and a perfect fit for fans of the short fiction of Laird Barron and Stephen Graham Jones. It's also a key influence for John, who talked at length about how the story's affected him. We also talk about night driving, and I admit the dangerous and dumb shit I used to do on lonely country roads.
