The Scares That Shaped Us Episode 44: Skeleton Crew with Clay McLeod Chapman

These podcast posts will start popping up here on Wednesdays beginning next week, but I wanted to save this one because today, August 28, marks the official one-year anniversary of the podcast.

To celebrate, we have Clay McLeod Chapman back on the show to talk about his new short fiction collection, Acquired Taste, and Stephen King's legendary short fiction collection Skeleton Crew. Clay was our very first guest back on August 28, 2024, so it seemed fitting and fun that we'd have him back for the one-year mark.

The Scares That Shaped Us is my first podcast, and it's something I launched almost on a whim. I wanted to do more longform interviews with horror authors, ones I wouldn't have to cut down for print articles, and this seemed like the most natural solution. Since then, we've had everyone from Stephen Graham Jones to Rachel Harrison to Hailey Piper and beyond on the show, and we're just getting started. If you're reading this newsletter, it's because this show has continued to spur me to do more stuff in the horror community space.
